Hi there! I’m Dashienova and I’m the artist creating this zine :). I’ve loved My Little Pony since a young age, and mlp was all I drew then! Since then I’ve built a little career as an illustrator, and every year I have a stall at UK PonyCon, where I hope to sell the printed version of this zine! Seeing all of the other mlp zines popping up over the last several months inspired me to create my own, I had always wanted to but had no idea how..Because there’s several mlp zines out there now, I thought I’d come up with a more specific theme for mine, and I came up with Background Ponies of gen 4, and Generation 1-4. I chose to do the background pony theme first!.The main aim for this zine is to have many 30-40+ create art, writing, cosplay and photography based around the gen 4 background characters. It will be an online zine first, and then hopefully get printed physically too. I also hope to have goodies such as wallpapers (for digital version) and prints (for physical version) too.
.I hope you all enjoy this zine as much as I do! I’m very excited to see what the end result is :)

HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO SUBMIT?
One month from the date of the application release
.DO WE CREATE OUR PIECES BEFORE WE SUBMIT?
Nope! If you have been accepted for the zine, you will then have 2 months to create your work, do not create any work before being accepted
.WHAT CAN I / CAN’T I SUBMIT?
You can submit pretty much anything you like as long as it’s based around a background pony. You cannot submit anything 18+, nsfw, hateful, very heavy, graphic or dark topics, but light things are okay. Please see the Submission Guidelines for more details. No AI, bases, or previously created work, however, to keep things fair. Essentially keep it family friendly! I want this zine to be accessible to everyone

Unfortunately no

Of course! Whilst this zine primarily focuses on g4, if the bg pony you've chosen is from any other gen, you are welcome do make art/writing/take photos of them! :)
Submission Guidelines
These are the submission guidelines for the zine! Please read this carefully before you start creating your work, and refer back to it when you need :)..
SIZE:
the zine will be a4 size, so please create your work to that size. If not, please know that it will be cropped to that size.
.CONTENT GUIDELINES:
You cannot submit anything 18+, nsfw, hateful (eg homophobic), very heavy, graphic or dark topics (eg detailed gore), but light things are okay. If you’re unsure whether your idea is okay or not, please contact me. If your work is inappropriate, accidentally or not, I reserve the right to remove it from anything zine related. Nothing traced/stolen, no bases or AI generated. Also no previously created work - it has to be made for this zine! Essentially keep it family friendly! I want this zine to be accessible to everyone.
WHEN SUBMITTING:
When you submit your final pieces, please send them to [email protected] as an attachment, not an image to keep the quality high..
FOR ARTISTS:
Please work at 300 dpi to keep the quality high.
The limit is one piece of work each
The art should be fully finished pieces please.
FOR WRITERS:
The word limit is 2200 words. You can do under that too, of course. This is because it will be Arial font size 12, as that is most visually accessible.
SUBMISSION STEP BY STEP:
Make sure your work is at least 300dpi, high quality, exported in .png , and a4 portrait size.
Then go to the zine email: [email protected] and attach your work.
Please include in you email: your name and social media handle to be published in the zine, your discord handle, and page order if necessary.
Now send it off! :)..
